Vriendinne + gin = Vrienginne
When I saw this name, I immediately had a huge goofy grin on my face! You guys, how cute is it?
I haven’t yet sampled them myself (it’s on my to-do list though I promise, but jeepers this Janu-WORRY has been real!) but there are only positive reviews on their page & the whole idea around this just makes me excited. Plus I am sure you know by now just how much I love a good gin 🙂
Your name: Marike Smit
Business name: Vrienginne
Social media handles: Instagram, Facebook & Website
Tell me a bit more about your brand: The name encapsulates the purpose of the brand. It celebrates friends coming together over a glass of gin. We celebrate diversity & unity in friendships.
Where did the name of your business come from: We gave the tongue-in-cheek name amongst our friends.
What makes your gin different to others:
• The gin & tonic are high premium products, meticulously crafted with beautiful flavors.
• We are making it very easy for the gin enthusiasts to pack in your G&T for a braai, picnic, festival or kuier. No cumbersome packing.
• And the bold, playful packaging is developed to create a talking point amongst friends. So that they can identify themselves with the various personalities, ie. Cool & Lekker Vriengin. We have two more Vrienginne on the way this year. 🙂
I’m excited by your gift bags – tell me more: They are canvas bags with screen prints, holding 4 x G&Ts. We are very fond of beautiful gifting and thought: Why not a bag that can be reused, instead of wrapping paper/boxes.
Where can people purchase Vrienginne: Various TOPS stores across the country. Vrienginne t-shirts online.
Who is your target audience: Women & men who enjoy gin & tonic with their friends
Why do you encourage people to support local: I think South Africans are some of the most creative people in the world and we would like to see that reflect even more through various businesses. Also, we are big supporters of growing South African economy and trade.
Quote you live by: Unity is our strength, diversity is our power.
Personally I think these would make a great birthday/anniversary gift, & the bottles are a great talking point.
Plus the t-shirts are super cute & are a necessity in every wardrobe (nudge nudge hint hint husband).
