“Chocolate is happiness that you can eat.” – Ursula Kohaupt

I don’t know about you guys, but chocolate is my absolute favourite!  It is my pick-me-up; a little treat; & a special kind of “treatment”.  I have cut down on the amount of chocolate that I am eating now compared to my younger years (thanks metabolism!), but that doesn’t mean that I don’t still savour every mouthful when  I have one now.

Recently Cadbury brought out a new range of Limited Edition chocolate slabs, & I knew that I had to try them out!  Husband isn’t a fan of sweet things, but when he saw these he volunteered immediately to assist me with taste-testing & giving his opinion.

Looking at the slabs, I had no idea which one I would like the most but I was VERY excited to try them out & took them to the office as well (I work in an office of women so this went down well) to try get a range of opinions.  If I had to rate them from least favourite to number 1 on my list it would look like this…

4. Caramilk inspired by P.S.

We all found this very sweet & you could definitely only have a little bit at a time (maybe a good thing?).  You could taste the P.S. part of it with the bits of crispy rice flakes & caramel-flavoured cream covered with Caramilk chocolate.  I don’t think we would get this one again, but I’m not a fan of the normal P.S. bar.

3.  Dairy Milk inspired by Crunchie

A Crunchie is usually my go-to chocolate when we choose a bar as a treat, so I was sure that this would be my favourite.  I love the crunch of the honeycomb, & it wasn’t overpoweringly sweet either.  This was husband’s number 1!  Crunchie always claims that they “take chocolate to a new level & combines taste & sound to deliver joy in each bite” – I can’t disagree with that at all.

2.  Dairy Milk inspired by Astros

Astros always evoke such happy memories of my childhood & the little biscuit bites are absolutely DIVINE.  Don’t judge me – these were always added to my popcorn at the movie house so they could melt a little & you would eat them together to get a taste sensation of salty/sweet/crunchy.  Did anyone else do this?  This slab is so yummy & will definitely be back on my shopping list again – but it was pipped to the post by the last one…

And…  NUMBER 1:  Dairy Milk inspired by 5Star

This is the one that I was looking forward to the least when I got all 4 slabs!  I find the bar very sweet & the caramel centre often ends up sticking my teeth together.  However, in the slab form it was simply incomparable to the others.  The caramel toffee & crunchy biscuit pieces blended so beautifully with the Dairy Milk & it literally made my mouth water.  I (& everyone else who tried it with me) would recommend this to absolutely anyone who likes chocolate, & anyone who needs a little “happy-treat”.

“Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”  – From the film ‘Forrest Gump’

Whilst looking into these yummy chocolates a little more, I discovered that Cadbury has recipes on their website as well which all look amazing, & can give you all another reason to buy more (as if you need it…)

These are available at all major supermarkets, so make sure you get out & try them for yourself before they disappear.  And if you have tried them, which was your favourite?
