I truly believe that while we are on earth, we need to work together to make the world a better place. If that means through choosing kind, giving of our time, or donating our resources where possible; then we should climb in.

So today, that is exactly what this blog is about. You see, The South African Red Cross Society needs our help. Their tagline is “Always Needed, Always There”, and now they are needing us so they can continue the amazing work that they do.

Who are Red Cross?

According to their website, The South African Red Cross Society is part of the world’s largest humanitarian movement and supports people affected by natural disaster and conflict. Guided by this movement’s Fundamental Principles, the Red Cross provides support based on need. These include:

  • Humanity
  • Impartiality
  • Neutrality
  • Independence
  • Voluntary Service
  • Unity
  • Universality

“It is in your hands, to make the world a better place for all who live in it.”

Nelson Mandela

The Red Cross Society are there to help when disaster, and currently they have thousands depending on them for feeding every week, as well as being available 24/7 to help, uplift and transform lives. But, they are in dire straits when it comes to financially being able to continue the work that they are doing.

Here to Help Red Cross

Thousands depend on them for feeding every week (as in the elderly and the EDC’s) whilst other communities call The Red Cross out for humanitarian disasters. These can be fires, storms or floods and they rush in with medical supplies, food, water, sanitary products. All of these cost money and again, just one of the reasons for the earnest appeal behind this campaign.

The SA Red Cross WC are busy with HIV/AIDS & TB programs – all needing desperate funding and attention. Simultaneously they are busy with fighting GBV and finding sponsors for a robust youth plan – for the ones at risk of becoming on the other side of the law. The proposal is holistic and caters for various stages with them all pointing towards giving these youth the hope of a better tomorrow.

I would like to urge you to quite simply ‘HELP THEM, HELP OTHERS’ in a comprehensive and all-encompassing manner that the SA Red Cross is known for. Please think of donating whatever can be afforded, and collectively we will overcome. This means that your funding, combined with the force of the SA Red Cross Society, can help in attending to the many communities in need with the urgency required.

I would appreciate shares of this to help reach a wider audience to make more of a difference for The South African Red Cross Society. I know that we can smash goals, be the change, and show them just how much we appreciate everything that they are doing for South Africa.

So, are you with me to help them help others?
